Who's Your Inner Voice?
You are what you think and your thoughts do actually define you.
Think about your thoughts as being just as important as what you consume on a daily basis. If you decide to wake up and fill your body with foods that are damaging to it, it's no wonder you can't function to your highest potential. On the other hand, if you choose to give your body what it needs, watch it excel and grow.
The same concept applies to your thoughts. I want us to get used to the idea of having beautiful thoughts and for it to be rare for us to negative self-talk. Some of us do it unconsciously because we've been doing it for so long. But none of us deserve that. You deserve a mind that allows its thoughts to flourish the way flowers flourish when they're planted in the right environment.
To nourish the mind is to build a space so powerful because you begin to learn and understand the importance of controlling your emotions rather than allowing them to control you. And the first step to doing that is by paying attention to your inner voice.
How do you talk to yourself? Is it kind? Is it understanding? Would you want others to speak to you in that way?
Would you speak to others like that?
Getting to know this inner voice of yours begins with answering those questions. And to answer them is to be brave because you may not like what you hear. But that's the point, isn't it? We're here to learn what voice we want to hear when we need to be our own best friend. Noones here to be in constant battle with ourselves.
You're trying to build a life that you're proud of, and a part of that is by being proud of yourself! So start paying attention the next time your thoughts start to sound anything but positive. Someone once told me, "reflecting on actions eventually allows you to reflect in action." And it's stuck with me ever since.
To nourish the mind is to give yourself the opportunity to flourish. Give yourself that, because you are deserving of it.
